Forgetting to mention someone is one thing but saying something wrong in groom toasts can be a disaster. This is how you can avoid the embarrassing situation.
Making Your Bride Happy
If you want to please your bride do not speak about your previous relationships. Even if you try to compare someone else to your bride and in favour of your bride, she will not be happy about it. Do not throw in any teasing jokes either as it is not place for it. That is your bride’s most special day.
Drinking
No matter how well you might have prepared your groom speech (probably better than I did!) your number one worst enemy could be alcohol. Few extra drinks could make you say something wrong. You could say something wrong about anyone under influence so I would leave alcohol for after the speech.
Additional Tips
You need to plan ahead. Not doing so will make the whole grooms speeches preparation more stressful. You will be in less control of what you say if you do not prepare it on time. Luckily there are now plenty of sources of help online for those who want even a funny groom speeches that don’t offend anyone.
